Originally from Toronto, Laura Gemmell studied human evolutionary biology at Harvard College before completing a masters of science in clinical embryology from the University of Oxford. Laura has conducted research in endometriosis for the past four years, publishing work on postmenopausal endometriosis and endometriosis as a risk factor for incorrectly diagnosed laterality of ectopic pregnancy on ultrasound. Her systematic review on the management of menopause in women with a past history of endometriosis was published in Human Reproduction Update.
At the 13th World Endometriosis Congress in Vancouver, Laura was recognised as a runner-up for best oral presentation by a junior clinician.
She was selected as a World Endometriosis Society Early Career Ambassador in 2019.
