Mira Mousa

Mira is an Assistant Professor in Public Health and Epidemiology at Khalifa University and a Deputy Program Manager of the Biomedical Science Discovery (BISDI) Program at the Center for Biotechnology. Her research combines epidemiology, multi-omics, molecular genetics, population genetics, public health, and bioinformatics to investigate genotypic-phenotypic interactions in disease pathogenesis, aiming to identify biomarkers for early diagnosis and drug development. Her primary research areas include women’s reproductive health, metabolic disorders, cancer, and infectious diseases.

Mira also leads the ‘MAR’A Project: Middle Eastern Women Research Association’, an epidemiological study focused on gynecological health in the region. She earned her in the Genetic Epidemiology of Women’s Reproductive Health from the University of Oxford, an MSc in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine from University College London, and a BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Central Florida
