Professor Mishra is an internationally renowned researcher with broad expertise in women’s health epidemiology who maintains numerous international collaborations including Europe, USA and Japan. She is Director of the national flagship study, the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health, and a recognised Chartered Statistician (Royal Statistical Society). With over 470 seminal scientific papers, book chapters and reports to inform government policy, and led the evidence review for the Australian National Women’s Health Strategy 2020-2030. Since 2018, she has presented at over 50 invited symposia, with 19 plenary sessions at international conferences for practitioners. She regularly contributes to the UN Commission for the Status of Women, including as an expert panellist for WHO and International Council of Women meetings on translating a life course approach to women’s health and NCDs into policy.
Professor Mishra is an elected Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences, advisory board member for the Queensland Heart foundation, and received the 2022 RANZCOG award for Excellence in Women’s Health. She is a founding member of the Australian National Women’s Health Advisory Council and in May 2023 was appointed Scientific President of the World Congress of Endometriosis 2025 to be held in Sydney
Professor Mishra is the lead editor of the recently published her book, “A Life Course Approach to Women’s Health”, which reflects upon the extraordinary gains in the evidence on women’s health across the life course. Prof. Mishra’s book provides a comprehensive review of current research, advances in technology, and the evolving nature of the field with its application in practice and policy.
