Andreas D Ebert MD PhD is a gynaecological oncologist and surgeon. He completed his medical school and residency at the Humboldt University of Berlin and at the Free University Berlin. His PhD was completed at the Technical University Berlin.

He is Past President of the Berlin Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (founded 1844), President of the German-Russian Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (GRSOG), President of the German-Azerbaijan Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (GASOG), past speaker of the Task force Uterus (German Society of Gynaecological Oncology, AGO), and Board member of the German Society of Gynecological Endoscopy (AGE) and also of the Stiftung Endometriose-Forschung (SEF)

In addition to his professorship at Charité – University Medicine (Berlin) Dr Ebert was honoured with the Dr.h.c. of the Azerbaijan Medical University (Baku) and the honorary Membership of the Russian Association of Oncologists and Gynaecologists (St. Petersburg).

He is a member of over 10 professional societies including the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopy (AAGL), American Society of Cancer Research (ASCR), German Cancer Society (DKG), German Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DGGG), Society of Gynaecological Investigation (SGI), the World Endometriosis Society (WES), and the Society of Gynaecological Surgeons (SGS). He has been an advisor, consultant, and reviewer to government, industry, professional and patient organisations, and has published and lectured extensively nationally and internationally on endometriosis, gynaecological surgery, the history of medicine, and molecular biology.

In 2000 he founded the Endometriosezentrum Berlin (EndoZB) and in 2001 the Deutsche Endometriose Kompetenz-und Experten Netzwerk (DEKEN), a national network that provides scientific programmes and other services to scientists, physicians, and patients. In 2006 his clinic was certified as the first Endometriosis Centre of Excellence in Germany.

Professor Ebert is the author of seven Books, over 110 papers in peer reviewed journals, and more than 350 lectures, presentations, etc.
