Andrew Horne holds a personal chair in gynaecology and reproductive sciences at the University of Edinburgh and is the chair of the academic board at the RCOG. He established the EXPPECT Centre for Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis in Edinburgh in 2015.
Professor Horne is an experienced researcher in women’s health problems, with a specific focus on endometriosis and pelvic pain, and has published over 150 peer-reviewed scientific papers.
He is the UK representative for ESHRE, past chair of the ESHRE Special Interest Group for Endometriosis, a trustee to Endometriosis UK, and a trustee to the Pelvic Pain Support Network. He is also a member of the NICE and ESHRE endometriosis guideline committees, the co-editor-in-chief of Reproduction and Fertility, and will be the president of the 15th World Congress on Endometriosis in 2023.
Andrew Horne has co-authored a book on endometriosis for patients called The experts’ guide to treat, manage and live well with your symptoms.
Professor Horne was a WES Ambassador from November 2017 until November 2020, when he was appointed to the board of trustees of the World Endometriosis Society.
