FAQs about the relocation of WCE2021

We aim to answer all of your questions about the relocation of WCE2020 (now WCE2021) from Shanghai to Dubai here.

Please contact us if you need additional information.

What happened to WCE2020 in Shanghai?

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and immediate travel restrictions imposed worldwide it was not possible to go ahead with WCE2020 in China in May 2020. WES puts the health and welfare of participants and the local host community at the forefront of its decision making, and subsequently WCE2020 was moved back to September 2020 and relocated to Dubai.

Why has WCE2020 been postponed again?

The continuous travel restrictions does not make any international congress viable for attending a congress in September. Whereas many congresses are choosing to go virtual, we hope that, by postponing the 14th World Congress on Endometriosis a little bit longer, we can all meet face-to-face for that all important interaction of sharing and discussing ideas and and moving forward initiatives that will improve what we do for those with endometriosis and adenomyosis.

Why did WCE2020 join forces with EndoDubai?

So many meetings this year are being rescheduled for the spring and early summer of 2021. And, hopefully, we will all be able to travel to participate in these. However, to avoid too much overlap of meetings with similar audiences (and recognising that we cannot all spend the first half of 2021 attending back-to-back meetings) we felt that teaming up with EndoDubai – a meeting dedicated to enhancing endoscopic skills – would complement the World Congress on Endometriosis perfectly and would merge naturally into a brilliant way to kick off 2021. We hope you agree!

Can I transfer my registration fee from WCE2020 in Shanghai to WCE2021 in Dubai?

Yes. Your registration is automatically transferred to WCE2021. If you have any questions, please contact our secretariat.

Can my congress registration fee be refunded?

Yes. If you wish to cancel your participation, please email WCE-Registration@icsevents.com before 25 January 2021 for a refund less US$100 administrative fee. All refunds will be processed in 6 – 8 weeks.

Can I transfer my registration to another person?

Yes. A transfer of your registration to another person can be done by re-accessing the original delegate’s registration (via the confirmation letter you have previously received) and replacing it with the new delegate’s details.

Will I have to resubmit my abstract(s)?

No. We hope that you are still able to present and we offer you the same spot in the scientific programme as before. However, we appreciate that with this delay of the congress your research may have become more fully advanced, which is great, and we still want to hear from you. We, therefore, invite you to please contact our programme manager for instructions of how to update your abstract and, indeed, to let us know if your work has been published in the meantime.

Should you wish to withdraw your abstract, please contact WCE-Speakers@icsevents.com before 31 July 2020, please.

Will my hotel room reservation be refunded?

If you have made a hotel room reservation within the official block of the conference partner hotels, which include the Shanghai Marriott Hotel Parkview and Four Points by Sheraton Shanghai Daning, you will receive an email with information on the refund policy. If you have booked outside of our official block, please contact the hotel directly.

Will my airfare be refunded?

Please ask your travel agent/airline and let them know you are cancelling or modifying your booking due to the postponement of WCE2020. The responsibility for airfare bookings and refunds falls outside the scope of WCE2021 and will be dependent on the type of fare booked and travel insurance coverage taken out by you.
