Annemiek Nap completed her PhD on the pathogenesis of endometriosis in 2004 and won the ESHRE Promising Young Scientists Award in the same year.
In 2009, she was registered as a gynaecologist. Afterwards, she did a sub-specialisation in reproductive medicine, which she completed in 2012. She founded the Rijnstate interdisciplinary team for diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis and is head of this clinical team. She coordinates endometriosis research in Rijnstate, focusing on timely diagnosis and on pain.
She is a member of the advisory board of the Dutch Endometriosis Society. Besides endometriosis, her clinical tasks involve the care for sub-fertile couples and paediatric gynaecology.
Nap was associate editor for Human Reproduction from 2011-2014. She was a member of the ESHRE Guideline Development Group for the 2013 publication of “Management of women with endometriosis”.
Annemiek Nap was appointed to the WES board in May 2017.
