Andrew Horne holds a personal chair in gynaecology and reproductive sciences at the University of Edinburgh, and is chair of the academic board at the RCOG. He established the EXPPECT Centre for Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis in Edinburgh.
Professor Horne is an experienced researcher in women’s health problems, with a focus on endometriosis and pelvic pain, and has published over 110 peer-reviewed scientific papers.
He is the UK representative for ESHRE, past chair of the ESHRE Special Interest Group for Endometriosis, and medical advisor for Endometriosis UK and the Pelvic Pain Support Network. He is also a member of the NICE and ESHRE endometriosis guideline committees, the deputy editor-in-chief of Human Reproduction Open, and will be the president of the 15th World Congress on Endometriosis in 2023.
Andrew Horne has co-authored a book on endometriosis for patients called The experts’ guide to treat, manage and live well with your symptoms.
Professor Horne was appointed a WES Ambassador in November 2017.
