Professor Forman graduated in 1978 and defended his DMSci thesis in1984 at Aarhus University, Denmark. He achieved his clinical training at Malmö General Hospital, Sweden, and Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. The postion as consultant and associate professor was achieved in 1994; he was appointed full professor in 2008 for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Aarhus University Hospital; and became visiting professor to Zhengzhou University Medical School, China, in 2011.
He founded the referral unit for advanced endometriosis therapy, Aarhus 1997-2001, and since 2001 he has been head of the Western Danish Endometriosis Referral Centre. He is a board member of the Danish Endometriosis Patients Society and the Minimally Invasive Education Centre, Educational Region North, Denmark. He is a scientific board member of the Kiel School of Endoscopic Surgery and the International School of Neuropelveology, Zürich.
Professor Forman is co-editor and contributor to several textbooks in gynaecology. Teaching activities include endometriosis treatment and endoscopic surgery at national and international postgraduate courses and in patients’ society meetings. Scientific areas of interest include basic research on pathogenesis and clinical research on pathogenesis, pharmacology, and surgical treatment of endometriosis. Additional topics are clinical pharmacology of the urogenital tract and uteroplacental unit. Supervisor for 13 DMSci- and PhD dissertations.
